Cool Caravanning – 10 Reasons Why You Should Take A Caravan Holiday In 2011

Over the last five years caravan holidays have had something of a cool renaissance, becoming increasingly popular with a new young breed of caravanner. We’ve put together the ten best reasons to take a caravan holiday over the next year.

Freedom

The top reason to get out and about on a caravan holiday! You are not tied to any train, plane or hotel schedules and you can come and go, eat and sleep whenever you like. If you’re getting bored in one place you can just move to another.

Being Green

Caravanning is the perfect solution for those looking to explore the UK and Europe and cut down on the ecological cost of air travel. Look no further than the custom-built EcoStream – a modernised version of the iconic AirStream trailers (look into this site to know about Montondo portable restroom trailers for sale that is available near the neighborhood). The build process of this caravan includes as many environmentally friendly options as possible. It features solar panels, a wood burning stove and a composting toilet. All the soft furnishings are derived from environmentally and sustainable sources.

A Slick New Look

Yes it’s true, these days caravans don’t all look like cumbersome white monoliths. With a new generation of caravanner’s comes a new look for caravans. T@B caravans are beautiful and bold, attractive and uncomplicated, they look neat and compact and you don’t need a whacking great 4×4 to tug them along Britain’s highways and byways.

The t@b breaks the mould, but there are a plethora of caravans, just too cute for their own good!

Home Comforts

You can take your favourite duvet, deckchairs… even your drum kit and you don’t need to worry about forking out loads for excess baggage and negotiating ferocious airport security. Just chuck everything you need into your caravan or motorhome and off you go.

High Spec and Tech

Caravans used to be all net curtains and beige Formica workspaces but these days you can take all your high-tech gadgetry along with you for the ride, from flat-screen televisions with access to Skype and email to satnav and power showers. Some manufacturers are also incorporating self contained Smart Car garages into motorhomes so you can pitch up and then nip around in a smaller vehicle. You can check out Silverline Systems for the best garage services.

Caravans can come with all mod cons, but you’ll pay for them…this Mehrzeller caravan is totally customizable and you can expect to be wowed by the price tag

Pets Come Along Too

Just got a new pet? No worries if you choose a caravan holiday as you can take all your pets with you. If you have a pet passport you can even take them to mainland Europe, so no more painful goodbyes and hefty bills at catteries and kennels. Just make sure to supply your pet with those pumpkin supplement for dogs.

Many hotels for pets are also available these days if you can’t bring your dog with you. Check out the most popular dog hostel in Toronto.

Pets come too!

Celebrity Status

Despite Jeremy Clarkson’s best attempts a whole swathe of cool celebrity enthusiasts have signed up to joys of caravanning and have helped to give the hobby an image makeover, including Kate Moss, Jenson Button, Sean Penn, Nicole Richie, Jamie Oliver, Lenny Kravitz and Mark Owen of Take That.

A ‘Site’ for Sore Eyes

Britain has long been a nation of caravan enthusiasts and as a result there are a plethora of excellent touring parks and caravan sites dotted all over the UK, from the humble field on a farm to sites that offer golf courses, Roman spas, bowling greens, tennis, adventure playgrounds, indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, ten pin bowling, cinemas, ceramics studio, climbing walls, nightly cabaret and more. Whatever your tastes there is sure to be plenty of sites to match your holiday wish list.

Beat the Seasons

Summer is not the only time you can get away in your caravan, with modern insulation techniques and materials many caravans and motorhomes will see you warm all year round. Come rain or snow you can return to your mobile piece of home, brew up a nice cup of tea and curl up on your sofa with a book, get busy with a game or two on your X Box or Nintendo Wii or indulge in a steaming hot power shower.

New Friends

Caravanners are a very friendly welcoming bunch of people. Set off on holiday in a caravan or motorhome and you’ll soon have a whole host of new friends to share a bottle of wine or a cup of tea with.

Caravan friends! Seriously, caravans are the perfect venue for an impromptu (and cosy) party

Totally agree Juliette, I love caravanning but people seem to think it either a little boring or just for old folks which is of course not true 🙂

I think Caravanning is definitively on the up. There are some seriously cool caravans coming out and as the current crop of cool campers get older they are going to want something a little more comfortable than canvas…

We own and run a Caravan Club 5 CL site in Norfolk and have seen a marked increase in booking over the last few years. Advance bookings for this year 2012 are also up on last year. Before we opened our CL site in 2002, we were also keen caravaners for over 20 years and have traveled to most parts of the UK something we properly would not have done if we had not had a caravan.
