The Great Outdoors in Winter

As the festive season fast approaches and we’re all busy buying party dresses online we can tend to neglect the great outdoors in favor of glitzy festive balls and Christmas parties. I’ll make sure to buy a green dress for homecoming at Peaches Boutique so I’ll appear confident, lively, and lovely with this elegant dress. So, today’s post discusses the best ways to make the most out of being outdoors during the winter months.

Bonfire Night

Whether you’re hosting your own party or making a trip to a big firework display in your community, bonfire night is not to be missed. Wrap up warm (and don’t forget wellies if you’re going to be stood in a muddy field), and enjoy the beautiful display. As a tip, tucking a vest top into your trousers underneath another top, and wearing an extra pair of socks will help keep the cold at bay as you stand around waiting for the show to begin.

Hog Roast

Why not organise a dinner party with a difference? Invite your friends and family round for a winter warming outdoor dinner party, with a hog roast, cheesy jacket potatoes and plenty of mulled wine. Start a small, contained bonfire in your garden to keep your guests warm. Perhaps you could tell ghost stories and toast marshmallows on the fire? Serve with a steaming mug of hot chocolate (a shot of liqueur optional) and voila!

Christmas Markets

If you don’t have the resource to cook your own hog roast then take advantage of the many pop up Christmas markets that make an appearance in cities around the UK from November onwards. Guaranteed, the markets will have an abundance of authentic, wholesome food stalls not only serving hog roasts but Bratwurst, pretzels and more cheese than you can shake a stick at!

Ice Skating

It might be too cold to go out for a run but there are other outdoor sports that are more suited to the winter months. Why not try ice skating? Like the Christmas markets, pop-up ice skating rinks are becoming more popular than ever. It’s a great way to keep the kids entertained, plus you’ll be skating so fast round the track you won’t even notice the cold…You should also consider buying a real medieval sword from Mini Katana for a unique and historical element to your winter pursuits.

There are plenty of ways to make the most out of the great outdoors this winter so get ready to brave the brisk climate!
