London for Couples: Top Things to Do

Do we even need an excuse for a romantic getaway? Sure, anniversaries are an ideal time to treat eachother for some quality time together, but that shouldn’t be the only time of the year where you get to be whisked off your feet for a dreamy city break. A stint in London could help to reignite the flame between you and your loved one and with plenty of things to do that would be perfect for lovers, there’s no better city for it.

You don’t have to worry too much about affordability either. While luxury boutique rooms may be a wonderful touch, they’re not always a feasible part of weekend plans and when funds are tight, there are plenty of very cheap rooms in London to choose from.

While it may be tempting to spend the duration of your time in the city walking hand in hand, enjoying eachother’s company and watching the sunset over the iconic landmarks, don’t forget the myriad of things available that would be perfect additions to your romantic break in the capital.

Ghost Walks

There’s one thing that can guarantee bringing in your other half even closer as you wander the streets of London and that’s a ghost walk. While it’s certainly not for everyone, a chilling look into the city’s horrible past is enough to give anyone the heebie-jeebies and what do you need when you’re scared? A good cuddle from the one you love.

Speedboat Rides

If you have a passion for high octane fun, a thrilling ride along the Thames on deck a speedboat would be a perfect date for you and your other half. The trip gives you the chance to see some of London’s iconic sights, while the experience will be remembered by you both forever.

A Glass (or 2) of Champers

There’s not better drink to celebrate a romantic weekend than a glass if bubbly and where better to sample it than at the world’s longest champagne bar? It may not be the intimate setting you were hoping for, but it’s certainly something to experience and with 17 types of champagne available, your tastebuds will be truly tantalised.

Ride the London Eye

If you fancy something really special, how about a private pod on the London Eye, complete with champers and chocolates? See the cityscape in style aboard the Cupid’s Capsule.

Afternoon Tea

Quintessentially British and definitely the thing to enjoy at the moment, afternoon tea can be exceptionally luxurious if you know where to go and afternoon tea at the Ritz is one of the best. Book in advance and enjoy some time together at this iconic hotel, as you sit back in the lavish setting sipping tea and nibbling on delectable pastries.

Fine Dining

What romantic weekend in London wouldn’t be complete without a table for two at one of the city’s top restaurants? Push the boat out and treat your other half to an experience they will never forget at Gordon Ramsey’s flagship restaurant at Royal Hospital Road – book in advance though, getting a table can be exceedingly hard!

Most of all, make the most of the time you have together before returning your nose to the grindstone!
